Umbria via Côté d'Azur and The Italian Riviera

April 23: departed Lerab Ling/ Languedoc for 12 days in Umbria.
Decided to take the scenic route which involved: 1 longish bus ride, 3 trams, 5 train trips and TOO many stairs (navigating my luggage)!
I spent 2 nights in Nice - was wonderful to see ocean again and feel warm sun on my back.
After a local train strike, eventually boarded a coastal train- an interesting ride through Monte Carlo, Menton and Ventimiglia.
Crossed the border into Italy, changed trains in Genova and onto Rapallo for 2 nites of R& R.
I am familiar with Rapallo as Jen and I stayed there late 2010.
The photos are of Rapallo as well as Portofino and Santa Margherita (took that shot for you, Margarita of Zetto) ..... such a pretty part of the world ...... although too many tourists (and cruise ships) about - this European summer is going to be crazy busy.
